IS BOTOX FOR YOU?
Botox is considered a minimally invasive procedure for facial rejuvenation. There are no absolute contraindications to the use of Botox.
Botox is indicated for dynamic wrinkles of the face. When Botox is applied to the area between the eyebrows, the resultant elimination of the wrinkles gives a vibrant appearance. In addition, this may provide a browlift for certain patients. Its application in the forehead area will help to smooth out the horizontal wrinkles. When placed in the area of the crow's feet, it acts to smooth the skin around the eyes.
Botox can be combined with other cosmetic procedures for an improved appearance. The use of Botox does not preclude surgical procedures, such facelift or eyelid surgery. In fact, the application of Botox after these procures will help to enhance the appearance. This is because those surgical procedures do not typically treat the wrinkles amenable to Botox.
Typically, Botox is an injection that is administered using small needles that are as thin as a hair. This allows for a relatively fast and painless injection. After the injection, the skin area is cooled with a small packet of ice to help reduce local swelling. The swollen area typically returns to normal in two hours.
Patients typically can return to normal activity, such as work on the same day. However, patients are asked to refrain from exercise the same day. The effects of Botox start to become apparent in five to seven days. Occasionally small touch ups may have to apply in the second week to perfect the appearance. The surgeon does not charge patients for touch-ups.
Botox usually lasts about four to five months. As the patient continues to use Botox, the time between the treatments may sometimes increase. This may be because the patient subconsciously learns not to use the specific muscles treated. This in turn, leads to improvement of the wrinkles with less Botox.
What is Botox?
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a sterile, purified protein that is produced in the laboratory from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Botox can be administered by injection to temporarily improve or reduce the appearance of wrinkles or creases. It is commonly used to treat prominent forehead creases, brow furrows and crow's feet. Botox has also been used to successfully treat migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasm in the neck and eyes.
How does it work?
When injected into the muscles responsible for wrinkles and creases, Botox temporarily weakens or paralyzes the muscle. This temporarily reduces or eliminates previous skin creasing and keeps new skin creasing from occurring.
Who is the best candidate for it?
Good candidates for Botox include men and women who are physically healthy, realistic in their expectations, and interested in improving the appearance of forehead creases, brow furrows and crow's feet. Botox may not be appropriate for individuals with certain neuromuscular disorder like ALS, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.
Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.
Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA™ or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results.

The Thread Face Lift with contour Thread
Contour Threads are the only non-absorbable barbed suture product cleared by the FDA for the elevation and fixation of midface, brow and neck areas. These specifically designed sutures are fashioned from clear polypropylene, a material that has been safely used in the body for many years in other medical products.
As the aging process begins, the skins connective tissue thins and collagen and elastic fibers begin to break down. As a result, these changes in underlying support structures appear as sagging, deep creases, folds and wrinkles in the skin as early as your thirties. Now there is a simple new technique that makes it possible to rejuvenate and beautify your appearance.
A lift procedure performed with Contour Threads is a safe, conservative and effective one that offers subtle, natural looking results. By gently, shifting sagging tissues in an upward direction, this technique allows the surgeon to produce a relaxed, fresh appearance while preserving and enhancing the natural contours of your face. This procedure does not replace a conventional face-lift; rather it offers patients an innovative, minimally invasive approach with immediate results.
In most cases, there is minimal discomfort, bruising and swelling. Ice compresses are recommended for the first 24-48 hours. Patients can usually return to work or normal activities in a few days to one week.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting effect
